Consulting Associate (Part-Time)

This role is for an organized data enthusiast who wants to help small businesses succeed. You’ll work directly with our Founder/CEO to support business owners across a variety of different industries, services, and products. Over time, there will be opportunities to interact directly with clients.

On any given day, you might be preparing a weekly report of missing receipts needed from a client, helping update HubSpot so we have an accurate picture of a client’s proposal pipeline for projections we’re compiling, or researching technology solutions that would solve a client’s problem. The Associate’s financial and operational responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Analysis and reporting

• Bookkeeping

• Data management

• Technology implementation

• Systems documentation

To be successful in this position, you should feel comfortable juggling priorities and deliverables, be dedicated to finding an optimal solution to a problem while outlining solid reasoning, and appreciate a well-organized Google Drive folder. Self-motivation and innate curiosity are key. You are someone who can easily spot connections, will research a topic if you don’t know the answer, and whip up a pivot table of summary data and clear analyses.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is required (accounting and/or finance major a plus; CPA not required)

• 2 to 5 years of experience in a professional setting

• Effective communicator and efficient problem solver

• Proficient in Google workspace

• Technologically savvy

• Familiarity with any of the following platforms is helpful: Xero, Quickbooks, Asana, HubSpot, Squarespace, ConvertKit, Zapier

• A design eye is ideal (including the ability to tell a powerful story through data and visuals)

• Drawn to helping small businesses

Environment

We are currently a small, mighty team of one. While “Headquartered” in Chicago, this is a remote position with video conference calls and frequent Slack communication expected.

Compensation and Hours

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Hours will vary slightly week to week depending upon client deliverables, with 10 - 15 hours of work expected to start.
